I know that Graham has to find a way to earn money to maintain entrecard site.
Entrecard gets paid (real money) by the paid ads.But we are not paid ‘directly’ by running the paid ads. Instead Entrecard will buy EC credits from you , and in that way it pays you indirectly. I really do not like it. He should do like google do. Publisher should be paid by real money not EC (We can not exchange EC to real money). We also have the site to maintain. We also need money like he need. So why he used our website to earn money without pay us? We also dropped card, link to EC site, make the site has good pagerank, SEO entrecard for free. He should think about entrecard community.
1. I suggest he should allow us exchange EC credit to real money.
2. Give us $0.01 per click and he keep the remaining.

Long time not drop entrecard

Hi everybody,

Because i am very busy in this month and previous month, i do not have time to drop cards. Sorry for do not drop back. And i am very appreciate to anyone drop on my card in this time. And in this time, i will analyze statistic when i do not drop any entrecard.

+ Traffic: My traffic decrease 10 times if i do not use entrecard.

Note: My traffic is totally from entrecard because i want to find the best way entrecard can help us to increase traffic.

As we can see that, 30% traffic is direct traffic. It means that 30% of entrecard people has their own list and drop in this list. ==> If you are in those lists, you will have the loyal visitor.

55% from entrecard, so it means that entrecard newbie will let entrecard system find sites to drop. To get those traffic, you only have one way: drop as much as posible to have the high rank.

10% from others site, to get those traffic, you have to had the good relationship with other blogger. To do this, just comments on their blogs and give your ideas, make friends...

1% from google: only for my site, because i only use entrecard as SEO tools. Other sites should focus on SEO using google search.

When I started blogging, Entrecard was the biggest thing in the blogosphere. And although many blogs are now removing their Entrecard widget from their blogs, I still keep mine.

Here's why:

1. There are still a lot of blogs with Entrecard. Given that, Entrecard is still the cheapest way to advertise your blog in others.

2. When you drop cards often and advertise in new blogs, more often than not, you convert the rookie blog owner into a subscriber in your blog.

3. I usually use my credits to become a sponsor in blog contests of others. Thus, giving me precious link love from the blog contest participants.

4. The Entrecard Market is a very interesting place and I've used my credits to buy some stuff there, both virtual and physical goods.

Basically, these are the top 4 reasons why I still have an Entrecard widget in my blog. I noticed that by putting it below the fold, I've minimized "bouncing" in my blog.

There are some facts on entrecard
1. Entrecard does not bring much traffic as you expected.
According to google analytics, my blog got from entrecard about 100 visit per day. The bounce rate is 93%.
2. Entrecard traffic can not bring money.
According to my google adsense, i got 1$ from the beginning till now from clicks from entrecard. Strange. That is because of high bounce rate and people do not have time to click on real ads :)). Another reason is that entrecard people try to remove ads and images from the blog they visit.
3. People rare comment on blog post or read post.
It is the trouble of entrecard system. You got award only when you drop as much as posible.
If you drop so much, you will be tired and do not want see or read any blogs. I am sure about it.
4. You can be banned very easily.
Many famous bloggers are banned from entrecard. And you should be carefull when your blog has high popularity rank.

Now my blog has pagerank = 2. I satisfied in this rank. Really, i do not spend much time on SEO. Actually, if you do SEO seriously, your pagerank will increase. But it will fall down when you do not SEO. Therefore, i make the pagerank increase naturally. That mean that people will make backlink on me naturally. And it also points that content is king.

I think entrecard rule is very strict in some aspects but is loose in others aspects.

>> 1. No nudity: Entrecard, and its members blogs, are generally family friendly. Blogs with images containing nudity are not permitted. This includes nudity in advertisements.

+ I know it is because of children. But how can we identify that an image contains nudity.Do we consider a photo of a girl in bikiny contains nudity? How can we measure the nudity? This rule is not strict and make people confuse. The rule is depended on what moderator thinking. This should be more clear.
+ Another thing is nudity in advertisments. How can we know when ads show nudity?

>> 2.English only: Until we develop the infrastructure necessary to facilitate non-English
>> language blogs, English is the only language allowed in Entrecard.

Remove spam blogs. I think it is ok.

4. Content must be original: Reproduced content does not provide the specific qualities we are looking for in the Entrecard network. This includes both sites that use legitimate reprintable content such as “free articles”, abstracts and public domain content as well as illegitimate, illegal content such as stolen content or scraped feeds. Duplicate content, such as posts that appear on two or more blogs belonging to the same person is also unacceptable.

It is difficult to find out if your posts is original. Because not all knowledge is ours. We have to reference to other sources in order to write a good post. So i think this rule is very strict. We only need to show where the sources come from.

4. No full-screen ads or popups: Blogs that include full-screen ads or popups will be removed. This includes any popup window that appears when the site has finished loading or when clicking to view an article. It is OK for links to display a popup window if the user clicks a link, e.g. FeedBurner email subscription, but popup ads or forceful messages asking people to subscribe without clicking anything are intrusive and therefore not allowed.

I also do not like popup. But prohibit full-screen ads is bad. Entrecard site do not provide the quality traffic. And publisher can not earn from entrecard traffic. I see that many people block ads and therefore no money from banner or texts ads. Full-screen ads will be the suitable ads in this case.

5.No illegal file downloads: Blogs that link to illegally shared files, such as music, movies or software, will be removed. By “illegal” we mean content that you do not have the right to distribute. Linking to free, legal music and software is permitted.

Does advertisement on entrecard like gambling? The answer is YES. Sometimes i got many clicks from low value sites. But many times i got a very few traffic from my advertisment in some season like christmas, holiday season... So to increase traffic by using entrecard, you should follow some hints:
1. Content is king: so write a hot news and unique news
2. Entrecard should be attractive
3. Advertise on many different blogs as much as posible and chose site which generate more traffic to advertise again.
4. Make friend. With more friends, you can have more loyal readers. You can do this by comments on his blogs.
5. Do not advertise on specific niches. You should try more niches. It will bring more traffic to your site
6. Some 8ec,16ec blogs which have less traffic from EC but they have a lot of traffic from outsite. So you should try to find those blogs and advertise on good site.
7. Advertise on working day not weekend.

Life of entrecard guy

He slowly open website. Go to entrecard site.... Login and go to the inbox. Next, he clicks on all droppers. He clicks ay much as he can. And he thinks those sites load so slow. His computer are frozen and CPU is 100%. He can not do anythings and wait for all those website finish loading. He starts clicking on entrecard. Sometimes, he is angry. He can not find entrecard in some sites. He close it immediately. He clicks as the machine. Did not notice on what the site about. After two hour, he finish and relax. That's all for today. All the droppers are drop back. The next turn is another guy. He has to drop back all others who drop on him. And we are in circle that never end up. You and I will do the same things in the same ways to make the virtual traffic. If we break this rule, all will be gone. :( This is the thing i realize when drop card.

I have already registered sezwho at the time i register my blog with entrecard. Now i only got 10 sezwho registered comments. That means people do not want to spent time on sezwho. There are some reasons:
1. If you want to use sezwho, you have to do some complicated steps to register
2. Comment with sezwho is not easily
3. I personally do not think that sezwho bring us the real benifit. And i think that others also think that too.
4. People do not like to comment ==> do not use sezwho.

Weekend = Nighmare for entrecard advertiser

Unbelievable, I got very few traffic from ads at weekends. It seems that people do not like to work at weekend. All the traffic i got from people drop back me.
Therefore, we should not advertise so much on weekend. Advertise only on the most popular site, one or two ads is enough. It will bring more traffic than advertise many site at weekend.

And my blog is more poopular now. So what do i do?
1. First i use all my money to advertise (not enough money because the ads price is high) on the site which is more popular and less price.
2. I try to advertise as much as posible
3. When i have more people drop on my sites, i also has more credit. Another income is from people buy my ads
4. Now i have more credit to advertise. I do again from the step 1.

Today is 21-Nov-2008. I want to check my entrecard status.
After 12 days in entrecard, i become more popular. The ads price is now 128.
And i got average 60 visitors drop in my site and 40 organic clicks.
It seems that those traffic is good for new site. I drop about 150 cards everyday and got back 1/3 drops. It means that 2/3 people drop the same websites day by day and does not care who drop on their site. And what should i do in this case? Just remove who will not drop back my site and do not care my site.

With this stats, i can conclude that my traffic depend totally on entrecard. If i am not in entrecard, my blog will be vanished to air. That is really a problem. In addition, my blog is on the list of dropper. :) . That is because i always drop back who drop on me. Sometimes, i miss someone because i do not have much time. But this explain why i have 50% traffic is from direct traffic. With the direct traffic, you can believe that your traffic will be increasing. I prefer direct traffic more than referring traffic.
Sumary:
Always drop back whenever you can to get higher direct traffic. It makes your site will be more popular.
Today, i will use my card to advertise and track the changes. Wait for next analysis.

After tracking drop status for a few days, i have just found some interested in things
+ I drop about 150 cards/day
+ I got back about 50 cards/day
+ I have about 35 organic clicks.

Conclusion:
+ 1/3 = 50/150 people use strategy: You drop I follow. :D
+ 2/3 = 100/150: They did not follow above strategies. They use bookmarks and open list of fixed users in this bookmark and drop. They do not care about who click on them. And in this case, they may use ads to get more and more traffic from advertisment.
+ A fixed number of user click on my ads = 35/50= 70%. 70% of dropper clicks to ads.

So you should filter who not drop back you. Because they even know what your blog is about.
And i think you will get higher rank

But in general, it is a good strategy.

As we know, most people in entrecard just drop and run. This is because they have to drop more to get enough credits to advertise. I have try to drop and it took me more than a hour to drop about 150 cards. It is tired and stressful. So it is easy to understand that people do not want to comment any more. So the good solution is that you will comment on their blogs. When they finished dropping, they will see anyone comment on their blog and will comment on your blog back. CONCLUSION:
+ You can not wait for others come to your blog and drop and you follow. You need to be more active, drop as much as posible to get more popular
+ The strategies that many people used to do is: search new blog with has price 2 credit and advertise on it. But in my opinion, this strategy is not good as new blog with no experience in entrecard network will behave like me. And therefore, no one will visit his blog. If they visit, they also do not click on entrecard ads. Because they will do like the method decribed in previous post http://entrecardseo.blogspot.com/2008/11/dropping-300-cards-is-it-good.html .
So what do we have to do to get more good traffic?

Here is the first report in my entrecard. The google analytics is setting up. So i did not have any statistic on traffic now. Maybe in 2,3 day later, i can get them all,

Strong points of entrecard?

One of the strong points of entrecard is that we can have many traffics ( i dont know if it is quality traffic) and you will have good alexa rank. I already try it and my alexa from 1000000 now become 200000 (in other blogs not this blog). It is worth for new blog or for beginner. But if you want to earn money by those traffic, i think you can not because people visit your blog for earn entrecard credit not information. But, maybe i am wrong and you will find a good way to earn money. If you have a way to earn money from entrecard, please tell me. I am very interested in your experiences.

Weak point of entrecard

One of the big problems of entrecard is that dropper drop card and run :D . It will increase the bound rate so much. And of course, people does not spend time to read your posts. It is terrible.
Even though, now entrecard cooperate with SezWho, there are still a lot of people does not partipate in SezWho ==> drop and run. But it is only my opinion. So to prove my idea, i have to track my blogs daily and see how many people tend to comment on my posts and how many people just drop and run. And we will have the conclusion in this idea.

Entrecard SEO
The reason is very simple. I want to start Entrecard to study whether Entrecard can promote a blog as they said. To do so, i will make survey, statistic daily about my own blog with different strategies in order i can promote my blog. As i know, many bloggers have been banned from entrecard because of their blogs is not meet their quality. So i will start a new one with unique content and try to meet quality. I also compare this blog with one of my blogs which i do SEO very much. The goal in this test is: "Is entrecard can promote blog and how to do it?"
